An End and a Beginning

I'm not sure who reads this blog besides my grandma (Hi Grandma! :) ), but I thought I'd let you know that I am switching over to blogging about all of my knitting at Rebekah Evelyn Designs.

I will still keep this blog up so that you can see all the old posts, but I'm not planning on posting anymore on it.

The Summer I Didn't Knit

Sounds like the title of a tragic book, doesn't it?

The truth is, I did knit this summer, just not very much. I knit less than half as many things this summer as I did last summer. And it's not just because these items are bigger:

This summer. (The headband in the bottom left corner was Khyrstyn's birthday present. It hasn't appeared on my blog until this time. Actually, the bottom three are all birthday presents. Khrystyn's, Sharyssa's, and Clare's)

Last summer. There's a few items that I mentioned that I don't have pictures for. Namely, swatches for design proposals.

Here's to knitting more next summer!!!!

Yarn Pictures

Grandma B's friend, Nancy, gave us a bunch of yarn that she wasn't going to use. I took pictures so I could upload them to Ravelry, but for some reason I can't upload pictures to Ravelry. So I'm uploading them here and copying them. You can ignore this post if you want; it's a photo dump.

I've knit quite a few more pairs, but I haven't photographed them.

Knitting Goals, Continued

Here are some smaller goals I have. Also, there are several patterns that I wish to publish this year that I do not want to expound upon at the present time. They are mostly small accessories so it seems fitting to mention them in this post.

I included this shawl in my last post, which is sort of a smaller project.

As well as this cool shawl in these colors:

I would like to turn the pattern of this cute shawl into a hat, since I probably don't have enough of this yellow yarn to make it into a shawl. Or maybe a cowl or scarf?:

There's this fun hat that I could use to eat some of my leftovers from stockings.

On a rather boring note, I've had this washcloth pattern in my queue for ages (OK, more like over 2 1/2 years). I have several skeins of leftover cotton. I could whip up quite a few this year I bet.

Knitting Goals in 2014

Right now I'm knitting a pair of socks and finishing Christmas presents (carried over from 2012 no less). Hopefully, they'll be done by the end of this month.

In February, I am going to take part in the Ravellenic Games, which go on during the Olympics. I'm going to be knitting this sweater with this yarn:

Sometime after that, I think, I'm going to be knitting a design sample, but I'm not going to show anything about that now. It shall be a surprise. I guess I could show you the yarn at least:

Joseph has a sweater in his future:

I have some yarn coming in the next few days to make this shawl.

This vest has been in my queue for two years and I've had the yarn for almost a year and a half:

Once I use enough of the yarn I already have (to keep with my New Year's resolution of not buying any yarn), I hope to buy some yarn to make this pullover for Mary Ann.

Those are the big ones. Plus, maybe a sweater for Kristian and one for Johnathan if I'm feeling particularly ambitious. At the moment I don't have time to post anymore (smaller) goals.

Shawl, Progress, and Future Plans

I knit a small shawl last March that I modified since I ran out of yarn. In August, I bought some yarn to finish it off with. I knit the rest of it Saturday and Sunday, and gave it to Anna since I think she'd use it more than I would. Besides, I've already given Katherine a shawl:

I finished the first of the faun mittens today, but I haven't taken a picture yet.

And, last but not least, I bought some yarn today with the credit from making this shrug.
